Wow! What a busy day! We did a lot of math during our morning meeting today. Our greeting consisted of one person having a sticky note with an equation and another person finding the answer to the equation. After finding their match, the Kindergarteners were then asked to create a number sentence for their equation. This served as a great math review.
During Writer's Workshop today, the children answered the question "what would you do if Thing 1 or Thing 2 came to your house?" They then made their own Thing 1 and Thiings 2's ! These will be displayed in our classroom soon :-)
We completed the math stations that we started yesterday by taking a whole class "quiz" and answering riddles about 3-dimensional shapes. See if your child can tell you a riddle by describing a 3-D shape and then identifying that shape for you (the shapes we've learned are cube, cylinder, cone, sphere, and rectangular prism).
We ended our day with Learning Centers. At the Creativity Center, the Kindergartners used popsicle sticks and wooden pieces to create, while others made 3-D shapes out of paper! Others chose to build with straws, while others used legos or created "food with legos. As always, it was a great way to end our day.
