We started our morning by learning all about Elsa, our Star of The Week. We added to our Mind Files about Elsa as she shared her poster. We look forward to guessing your clues tomorrow, Elsa!
We also had Reading Shuffle this morning as the children shifted into different groups to focus on their phonics skills. The Kindergarteners enjoyed being with different children and learning in these smaller skills-based groups.
We started new math stations today. At the lesson station, we reviwed teen numbers by represnting them with bundles and "extras". Some children played Quirkle with Ms. McCarthy and others reviewed the "Grab Bab Subtraction" activity that we did last week. Colby's mom, Andrea, joined us and led children in a number bond activity using their ten-bead bracelets that they made last week. Thank you for volunteering today, Andrea!
We ended our day with Open Circle. We talked about recess and brainstormed some games that can be played during recess that can include everyone! We also shared some puppets that Ms. Johnson has loaned to the class, as another option for recess and creative play.
