Today Vivian's family came in as our Star Readers in honor of Vivian's Star of The Week week. They read 2 books from the Elephant and PIggy series. Thank you for spending part of your morning with us!

We also learned 2 new letters during Fundations- x-fox-x and y-yellow-y. I told the children that "x" is most commonly found at the end of a word and that is why we are focusing on the sound of "xs" for this letter. We also reviewed how to properly form "x" and "y" and wrote some more CVC words with both these letters.

During poetry, we added the Loker Birthday Song to our poetry folders and introduced the sight/trick word you t our word wall. This poem was a great opportunity to practice both our sight words- "to" and "you" as we read.

Math was spent in the computer lab doing Symphony Math.  The concepts we are learning in class are what is being practiced and reviewed during this time  and giving the children many oppotunities to practice and figure out the relationship between numbers using a number line, "bars" on a graph and mathematical equations.
