Ms. Pirelli joined us this morning and read the book Peaceful Piggy Yoga to the class. We tried many different yoga moves and she explained why yoga can be very helpful to keep our bodies and minds strong. Ask your child if he/she remembers any of the poses moves that we learned today.
We learned a new poem called the "Snowy Hokey" and found many sight words in the poem. The Kindergarteners then matched up mittens and colored them in so each pair was a match.
We ended our day with math. After reading How Much Does an Elephant Weigh? the Kindergartners were challenged to make their own pan balance. They had to plan, make, and then test out their pan balances. Using many different materials, the children were reflective of their effots and seemed to really understand how a pan balance works. We will continue this tomorrow morning!
