Ms. Pirelli joined us this morning and read two different books with example of characters showing "Rock Brain". As she read to us, she would either put a flexible brain on her head or a hard brain on her head. One of the books that Ms. Pirelli read to us was called About a Box which showed the different things that a box can turn into. To show that we can be flexible thinkers, the Kindergarteners had a chance to say what they would turn their box into- ask your child about his/her flexible idea!
Today we learned a new poem about the seasons of the year. The children looked for sight words and then had a chance to write down their favorite season and to draw a picture why they liked htis season.
We also continued with our Math Stations . The children loved using exploragons to create different shapes and to make bigger shapes out of smaller shapes. For example , they thought it was pretty cool how you could change a rectangle into a triangle by just removing one exploragon! We will continue our focus on shapes next week!
