It was a marvelous and busy Monday! The Kindergarteners started their day by working on their Leaf Man projects which we started during Friday Fun. We were so impressed by the creativity shown by the children in our class- some made roads out of leaves and sticks, while others made all different types of people. We hope to have these displayed in the main hallway soon! The children also worked hard to write in their journals today, trying to vary the types of things that they are writing about. We also introduced syllables and figured out how many syllables we each have in our names.
After reading one of our new books, Mr.Nosey, the Kindergartners started new math stations. At the lesson station , students worked on comparing different numbers while others either reviewed the concept of graphing with Ms. Dennehy or used magna tiles to make a creation. Some children also had the chance to work with Ms. Lepow today on a counting activity!
We ended the day with Open Circle as we spoke about Listening with our Eyes and the way our eyes are like arrows. We played a game to see if children could figure out what I was thinking about by "connecting" my eyes to the object as if it were a real arrow. This is a fun activity to try at home!
