Today, during Open Circle, the class brainstormed with Ms. Dennehy some games and activities that can be played during recess. Some of the activities that were suggested were:playing zombie tag, playing toilet tag, playing freeze tag, playing 4 squares, playing basketball or 4 square. We hope that having these ideas will help promote some more successful recess times.
The Kindergarteners also read the book I Wanna Read The Book by Karen Orloff as a kick off to letter writing during Writer's Workshop. The children now understand about a greeting and a closing when writing a letter. Letter writing will be new option during this time.

During math, the children rotated through different stations using our math manipulatives connected to shapes. These included magnatiles, 3-D solids, pattern blocks, and geo boards. We felt that it was important to give each child an opportunity to use each item in a small group with teacher check-ins.
