Happy December! The class was very excited to look at the new December calendar and find out the important dates coming up! We talked about the 2 birthday in December, Hanukkah, the first day of Winter (!!) and Christmas. The numbers are also written on snowflakes which was very exciting for the Kindergartneners!
We also wrote our first Star of The Week book. We reviewed Vivian's poster and then Ms. Dennehy modeled and showed how to draw Vivian. The Kindergarteners truly did an amazing job with their pages as they wrote at least one sentence about something that they learned about Vivian this week. We hope you enjoy your special book, Vivian!
During math we used our inventory bags to grab, count, compare and record. The children also need to figure out how many more and how many less. We will continue this activity during stations next week.
We ended our day with buddies. We played board games during this time and with our buddy's help and support, I hope the children were exposed to new games they might not have played before. Our hope was that they also learned the importance of having fun while playing and that it's not all about winning or losing (a hard lesson to learn).
