With Friday here, there seemed to be even extra excitement in our room! The children started the day with many different table top acitivities, including magna-tiles and making rainbow loom bracelets on their fingers! We transitioned into morning meeting and five children chose to share. This has become a very important part of our day where children are practicing public speaking as well as listening and how to ask questions which connect with what is being presented.
During Writer's Workshop, we read a book So Thankful by Mercer Mayer and shared and then wrote about things we are thankful for. These pieces of work are hanging up in our classroom now- feel free to check them out!
During Math we spent time in the Computer Lab using Symphony Math. The language of "part, part, whole" is an integral part of what many children are learning right now on this computer program. They are also learning about the number line as a tool to figure out more or less.
We ended the day with buddies. Our 3rd grade buddies helped us to make looms out of tree branches! This project is one that will go home with your child next week. We are so thankful for the Third Grader's help- we couldn't have done it without them!
