We started our morning with a song about sharing. Children enjoyed sharing about special things happening at home or about things they are looking forward to doing this weekend!
We then worked on our October self-portrait. Ms. Dennehy showed a step=by-step proces for drawing our faces and emphasized the importance of using accurate colors to depict our hair, eye color, etc. The Kindergartners really did a fantastic job and utilized the "table tent" on their desk which reviewed the steps for this task. I look forward to sharing these with you at our fall conferences.
We went to the computer lab for Symphony Math today and continued to focus on using the number line to help us solve simple equations. We also looked at "dot cards" and discussed how to quickly tell how many dots are represented (for example, coutning by groups of 2 or looking for patterns) as opposed to counting each dot.
We ended the day with Friday Fun. We made fall trees with tissue paper and reviewed the differnent parts of the tree including :bark, trunk, leaves, and branches.
