The Kindergarteners did a terrific job sorting words based on their beginning sounds this morning! I was also so impressed that some children chose to even try write the words.
During Fundations, we introduced 2 new letters -a-apple-a and g-game-g. As always, we then brainstormed words that begin with these 2 sounds. On Monday, we will learn how to write these 2 plain line letters.
We finished our math stations today. You can help reinforce what we learned by asking your children about "one more", "one less". We used a number line to help with this concept, as well as used unifix cubes to take one away and to add one more.
During science, we did an investigation with a thermometer. We put our thermometer in cold water and then warm weather and then compared the 2 temperatures. We then went outside to see how the outdoor temperature compared with the inside termperature.
