The Kindergarteners had such fun at our Fun Fall Friday activities this morning! Thank you to all the parents who volunteered and to those of you who donated supplies- we could not have done it without you! The children enjoyed being at a variety of stations such as decorating a pumpkin, predicting and then testing what fall items sink or float, feeling the inside of a pumpkin, using play do and making a bracelet- ask your child which activities he/she enjoyed.
We also practiced writing the letters "d" and "s" which are often reversed. If your child is interested in practicing (again, something that is not necessary because we'll do so much of that in school), the important way to prevent reversals is to start these letters at the plane line and then go backwards on the line....
During math we graphed the number of letters in our names after reading Chrysanthemum. We did this as a group and then the children did this independently. They did a great job at this tricky task.
We ended our day visiting our 3rd Grade buddies in their classroom! They showed us their inventions from their Invention Convention and we then had some time to build with their building materials. It was a great way to end our week.
