Today we wrote our Star of The Week book for Saanchi. After a drawing demonstration by Ms. Dennehy, the Kindergarteners worked hard to draw their own pictures of Saanchi and to write what they have learned about her this week. We hope you enjoy your book, Saanchi!
We also had our first Math Shuffle today. Math Shuffle (also called Math RTI) is a time when all Kindergarten children are "shuffled" and work in groups where they either receive review, enrichment, or continued support for the concept of counting. These groups change as we re-assess the children and as the math topic changes. Today we all met together to introduce the teachers (the classroom teachers, assistant teachers, Ms. Johnson ,and Ms. Behr) to the children and read 2 different books about counting. We will begin our groups next week.
We also played "Flip the Number" during our math time where children picked a number. Then, they were asked to give clues such as "more than" or "less than" to guess the target number.
