We started our day learning a new poem for November. The children learned how to spell the word "November" and then traced the numbers for their November calendar.
We completed our math stations. All children should now have a general idea of how to sort and that there are different ways to sort. Children should also know how many letters are in their name and be able to compare their name to at least one other child's name in our class.
During science, we started to explore and think about wood. Each child received a sample of 5 different kinds of wood, including particleboard, basswood, pine wood, and plywood. They observed each piece of wood and shared their observations. Next week, the Kindergarteners will identify objects in our classroom that are made from wood.
