This morning I showed the Kindergarteners a video of Martin Luther King giving his "I Have A Dream" speech. The chidlren were riveted and very engaged as they watched and listened. We did read a book together called I Have A Dream which in in your child's folder today. This is a book that is meant to be read together- they cannot read all the words independently (yet!).
We also reviewed all that we have learned about Matthew this week and each child wrote a page for his Star of The Week book. Ms. Dennehy also demostrated how to best draw Matthew to make our pictures look most like him. We hope you enjoy your book, Matthew!
We ended our day with buddies. They helped us to make flowers where the petals were different skin color shades. On each petal, the Kindergarteners and their buddies wrote a word to represent Martin Luther King.
