We started our morning with Brian's dad joining us as our Mystery Reader. He read an Elephant and PIggy book as well as a Dr. Seuss book. Thank you for joining us this morning!
We also wrote our book for Sam, our Star of The Week. Ms. Dennehy modeled how to draw Sam and we focused on Sam's features, such as his brown hair and brown eyes, as each child drew his/her picture. I also reminded the Kindergarteners to have a vowel in each word and to take their time when forming their letters. Every one truly did a great job. We hope you enjoy your special book, Sam!
For math, we used our feet cut-outs to measure things in the classroom that are longer or shorter than our feet. The Kindergarteners worked in pairs and recorded their findings. This is also a great activity to do at home- we will send home their "feet" on Monday to help them do so.
For . Friday Fun, we watched part of a "Sid The Science Kid" video and non-standard measurement. We also played Headbands- a game that was a lot of fun and helps children create clues to guess the picture on someone's headband.
