The Kindergarteners enjoyed completing their glyphs this morning and loved it when others "cracked" the code to figure out the meaning of their pictures. We look forward to doing more glyphs in the future!
During Writer's Workshop, the children did a fabulous job writing their individual pages for Mischa's Star of The Week book. We brainstormed as a class 4 different "sentence starters" which were helpful when the children went to start writing.
We spent our math time in the computer lab working on Symphony Math. The Kindergarteners are working hard during this time to use the number line to solve math equations as well as to figure out math relationships using the terminology "part, part, whole".
Mrs. McManus came to visit our class today and we continued our discussion about the brain and its many functions. These conversations will eventually lead us to discuss flexible vs. inflexible thoughts and matching our reactions to the size of the problem.
We ended our day playing board games with our 3rd grade buddies. Some children chose to play ready-made games, while others learned and then played paper football with Mr. O'Connor. Ask you child what he/she did with his/her buddy.
Have a great weekend!:-)
