Today the Kindergarteners worked hard on Sophie's book. We gave them the sentence starters "Sophie likes _________ " and "Sophie is ___________" to help them with their sentences. After a demonstration from Ms. Denneny, the Kindergarteners did a great job drawing Sophie and thinking about her specific attributes. We hope Sophie enjoys her special book!
We turned over the letter - R- Running Robot and brainstormed words that begin with "R". We also used the rhime "AT" and made different words by changing the beginning sounds. The Kindergarteners really seemed to enjoy this activity very much!
During math today, we tried a new program with Ms. O'Reilly, the K-5 Science/Math Curriculum Coordinator. The children were able to try this new program and then give feedback to Ms. O'Reilly. She and her team of math coaches were very appreciative of the class' thoughts about this program called "Track My Progress".
We finished our day reading Sophie her special book and by reading Little Miss Tidy.
