Today we had Literacy Centers where we continued to work on our trick words and unscrambling sentences. Children also met with me or Ms Richlen for guided reading groups where children are reading in small groups at their own reading levels. Former Laker students, who are now 8th Graders at Wayland Middle School, came to volunteer for their Day of Service.
We also had math shuffle today where children work in small, dynamic groups with the Kindergarten team. Right now, we are working on counting accurately, comparing numbers and number stories.
For Friday Fun, we played Jenga! In two small groups, the children strategized and cheered each other on as they thought about which part to take off the tower to keep it from toppling!
We ended our day with Buddies today. Our 3rd Grade buddies taught us how to play paper football! This could be a great game to play with your child...
