This morning we started new Literacy Stations. As some children continued to read in guided reading groups, others worked on hot cocoa mugs sharing their favorite books to read! We will be displaying these mugs on our outside board soon! Also, during this time, some groups worked on mixed up sentences and others had fun acting out many of our favorite stories.
We also finished our math stations from before vacation. Kindergarteners should now be familiar with pan balances, comparing their height to other objects, and the comparison strategy of "matchy match".
During science this afternoon, we observed our tree on this beautiful winter day! The children observed that the leaves have fallen off the tree and that the bark looks a bit different than last time, The Kindergarten scientists then recorded their observations in their science journals.
