Our day started with Emily David's dad joining us as Mystery Reader. After this special event, we had Writer's Workshop and wrote about all the things we've learned about Kathy. The children worked very independently during this time and felt very proud of their work.
During Math today, we introduced a game called "Monster Squeeze"- we used the number line to figure out the mystery number by making guesses. The person who picked the number gives clues saying "more than" or "less than". This is a great game to also play at home! We also sang the song "What comes next on the number line when you're counting with a number that ends with 9?" and focused on the tricky transition when counting from 29 to 30, 49 to 50, etc.
Mrs. McManus, our social thinking consultant, joined us today as we focused on the size of the problem and matching the size of our reaction to the size of the problem. This is a very tough concept and one we will continue working on with her on throughout the year.

During Friday Fun, we focused on the book Tacky the Penguin and made penguins that look like Tacky! This will be an activity that we will continue on Monday.
