We had a very busy Friday! We started the morning off with our shoe greeting and some fabulous shares. We then transitioned to Writer's Workshop where the Kindergarteners wrote about Greyson, our Star of The Week. We presented Greyson's book to him at the end of the day, and the children all felt very proud of their writing and illustrations.
After recess we had Learning Centers. Many children chose to play the game "Guess Who?" which focuses on attributes and asking questions. Others role-played in the dollhouse while others used play dough to create the shapes that we have been talking about this week.
During math time, the children used Symphony Math and continued to work hard to understand the concept of "part, part, whole". They also used the number line on the program to create and solve number problems.
We ended our day with Friday Fun- the children started to create their own marble runs. Using recycled materials, the Kindergarteners taped, measured, cut and created all different types of marble runs. Some chose to work independently while others worked in pairs. The Kindergarteners would like to continue working on these marble runs- if you have more tubes at home, we are looking to collect more! It was a fabulous way to end our week. Have a great weekend!
