After morning meeting this morning, the Kindergarteners were introduced to the sound of the last vowel in the alphabet. It is u- pulling tugboat. We then read some CVC words which had a U sound in the middle. We encouraged the children to use one of these words as they wrote their page for Emily's Star of The Week book.
During Writer's Workshop, the Kindergarteners used their mind files to brainstorm everything that they have learned about Emily David's this week. They then worked hard to write 2 sentences for Emily's special book.
During math we spent time in the computer lab for Symphony Math. Many children are working on missing addends and also using the number line to figure out the solution to a problem. As I've shared in previous posts, we continue to use the language of "part, part, whole" to figure out the answer.
We ended our day outside with our buddies. It was such a beautiful day out that it felt like an appropriate way to end our day. :-)
