It's our first full week of school in a long time! Yay! Glad to have the consistency of being here all week :-)
The Kindergarteners started their day by finishing a poem about cooperation which we introduced yesterday. They were asked to write/draw 4 thing that are important when working with a friend- some wrote down listening, compromising, and combining of ideas.
We also worked on sentence structure during Fundations and were excited to see the skills and elements of sentence writing (capital letters where needed, punctuation, and using syllables to sound out words) being used when the children wrote about Elliott, our Star of The Week during Writer's Workshop.
We ended our day with Friday Fun. Children needed to cooperate to create a ladder going to the moon based on Eric Carle's book, Papa Get The Moon For Me. The children were excited to reread this book and then work together. They will continue this project when they come to school on Monday morning.
