The Kindergarteners were so excited to write about Blake today for Blake's Star of The Week book! Many Kindergarteners chose to write 2 sentences and most often asked a question. I continue to be so amazed by their pictures as well as the children's ability to stretch and sound out words. Way to go!
During Learning Centers, the Kindergarteners continued to have fun at the Creativity Center and others loved building roads and playing with cars. Others chose to catch up on work while others played quite a competitive game of Uno!
We spent our math time in the computer lab and the class used Symphony Math. Before going on the computers, we worked through problems as a class that involved missing addends and equations which began with the answer such 7=4+3 or 8=7+1. Feel free to go on Symphony Math at home.
During Open Circle, we started to read My Fantastic Elastic Brain which teaches us all about the different parts of the brain! We talked about our smarts and thought about which parts of our brain help build our smarts. You will find your child's "smarts" in their folder today- some questions to ask are - "what smarts have you grown? what smarts are you still growing? what can you do to grow those smarts"?
Friday Fun was spent outside as we made an obstacle course on the playground and field. It felt good to be outside and enjoying the beautiful day. Enjoy your week with your children! We look forward to seeing them on April 25th. :-)
