Such a busy day today ! The Kindergarteners loved our special visitors, Rhythm Kids, who we met with to start the day. Tom and Dan are brothers who performed with drums and many other musical making "instruments" and took the children to Africa in a highly spirited presentation of their instruments. The children then each had a chance to use an African drum to play with Tom and Dan. See what your child remembers about their trip!
To celebrate Arbor Day, we gathered as a school as the 5th grade planted their class birch tree. We look forward to watching this tree grow as the Kindergarteners grow at Loker School.
We also wrote about Andrew, our Star of The Week, today. As always, the children really impressed me with their writing and the way they really thought about what makes Andrew unique and what they appreciate about Andrew. We hope you enjoy your special book, Andrew.
We ended our day by making 3-D structures out of marshmallows and toothpicks!! Children were able to make cubes, rectangular prisms and even a few houses! It was a great way to end our day:-)
We also said goodbye to Elliott today as we presented him with a special book that we wrote for him. We will miss you, Elliott- please stay in touch and let us know how you are doing. You will always be a special part of Room 1!
