We started the day by making an estimate for how many popsicle sticks were in my bag AND reviewing 2-dimensional vs. 3-dimensional shapes. Both were worth reviewing and seem to be understood pretty solidly by all children.
We read the book Be Kind and then thought about our Dads. The Kindergarteners worked for an hour on this special project-It is in your child's folder- please help him/her remember to give it to Dad on Sunday!
We ended the day by making bird feeders. We first brainstormed what a bird feeder might look like and what its purpose should be. Then, using recycled materials, the children made their own creation. We are sending these home, along with bird seed. As scientists, please help your child observe the bird feeder and, if possible, change and tweak if necessary.
