.Wow! What a busy day! Between school pictures and more shares about our families, we had a chance to draw and label the people in our family in our All About Me books. I emphasized the importance of using skin color pencils when we draw people, as some Kindergarteners were making purple and orange people! :-) We did a picture walk around the classroom and took time to compliment each other on what we noticed in each other's drawings.
We finished our math stations which we started earlier this week. A lot of what we are focusing on right now is the "routine" of math stations, while incorporating the importance messages of checking your work (because.."good mathematicians always check their work"), careful counting, and asking for help when needed. Next week, we will have new math stations to continue to enhance these skills and routines.
I introduced the letter and sound of "b" today - B, bat, "b" and we learned that "b" is a sky line letter. On Monday, we will use white boards and magnet boards to reinforce the sounds of "t", "b", and "f" (which we will introduce on Monday)
We ended our day with a sensory Friday Fun. The children got nice and messy! The stations included using shaving cream, finger painting, exploring our sand table and using play dough. It was a great way to end our week together:-).
