The Kindergarteners had such a blast playing “Croker-Delioma- Crok , Crok, Cork” during Morning Meeting this morning! This game requires the ability to follow the group plan and to be a good sport. See if your child can explain this game to you!
We also reviewed all of our sight words before Writer’s Workshop this morning. We then wrote about Charlie for his special “Star of The Week book”. The Kindergarteners enjoyed ending their “remarks” for Charlie with a question. We hope you enjoy your “forever book”, Charlie!
We spent our math time this afternoon working on Symphony Math in the computer lab. The Kindergarteners are becoming increasingly more proficient at their number facts and solving word problems that they are being asked. If desired, the Kindergarteners are now able to access Symphony Math at home- it's right under the "student" link on the Loker website.
We finished our day by working on our first official STEAM project! The KIndergarteners were asked to work in partner groups to make bird feeders to welcome the birds back! They were given recyclable materials (thank you for your donations!) such as egg cartons, milk cartons, water bottles, and paper tubes and adhesives such as masking tape and duct tape and were asked to create! Wow! It was amazing what the Kindergarteners were able to create. We look forward to hanging up these bird feeders by the Kindergarten door on Monday and seeing if birds come and enjoy the bird feeders.
