The children were so excited to be in school today, wearing their pajamas! We even sang the "Upside Down Town" song to think about how upside down it is to wear pajamas to school!
During Phonics we turned over a new letter - T, Ticking Timer and brainstormed words that begin with T. We also drew our October self-portrait which shows great detail and growth in all the children. These will be displayed on our "Look At Me" board if you would like to check them out!
Fall Fun was a huge success thanks to all the donations of supplies and parent volunteers- we couldn't have done it without you! The Kindergarteners had a chance to pound pumpkins, make apple print pictures, participate in an apple-tasting contest, and do 2 different experiments with pumpkins and apples. Ask your child what he/she enjoyed most!
We also had Open Circle today where we introduced the phrase Double D. A behavior is a Double D if it is Dangerous or Destructive. We brainstormed different things that could be a Double D (knocking down someone's tower, drawing a person's paper on purpose, calling someone a mean name, etc) and emphasized that these are times when it is important to talk to a teacher. Next week we will talk about annoying behavior and ways to handle that.
We ended our Fabulous Friday with our Third Grade buddies from Mr. O'Connor's class. All the children were so excited to meet their buddies and they worked on a questionnaire to help the children learn more about each other. It was a great way to end our day!
