We started our morning with our "Hello Neighbor" greeting which really set our day off to a great start! After morning meeting, we had Writer's Workshop and wrote our first Star of The Week book for Sophia. The children worked hard to think of either something new that they learned or something that they like about Sophia. We hope that Sophia enjoys her new book which she brought home after we read it as a class.
The Kindergarteners also worked hard during Learning Centers to build a big structure of straws! During the same time, some children chose to play "Sorry", build with legos, create cards/books at the Creativity Center or to sort words by their ending sounds with the pocket chart.
Math time was spent at the Computer Lab on Symphony Math- Ms. Dennehy and I used this time to individually check in with each student and to support their learning as they worked on the computer.
Open Circle focused on the "red light" part of the traffic light and brainstorming ways to calm down when facing a problem.
We ended the day with Friday Fun where we worked on a place mat that we hope you'll be able to use at your house for Thanksgiving or other times during the year. This will be coming home next week.
