Happy last day of September!! We had a busy day to end a busy week....
The Kindergarteners wrote their first page for our first Star of The Week book for Wyatt. We brainstormed all that we had added to our "mind files" about Wyatt and the Kindergarteners worked hard to draw an accurate picture of Wyatt (blond hair, blue eyes) and a picture of something he enjoys doing. We hope Wyatt and his family enjoy this special book.
We also read the book Harry Horseshoe Crab which Elijah brought in after Ms. Treffs showed the class a skeleton of a horse shoe crab which she found on the beach in Cape Cod! The KIndergarteners loved learning that horseshoe crabs are prehistoric and that they lay eggs. Thank you, Elijah, for sharing this book with the class.
We also had a chance to meet our 3rd Grade Buddies (from Mr. O'Connor's class) today! Some children were very excited, while others where a bit nervous in anticipation, but all the matches seemed to work! The 3rd Graders and Kindergarteners worked on a questionnaire together to learn a little bit about each other. We hope to have buddies about twice a month to help create relationships between the children. It was a great way to end our day!
