We started our day by finishing our scarecrow math which we started yesterday. The children continued to work so well together, deciding how many crows to put on each shoulder of their scarecrow. They also had to work together to decide on a name for their scarecrow. Make sure to check them out- they're hanging outside of our classroom.
We also put a new poem in our poetry folder. This poem is "Days of The Week". When reading this poem we noticed that every day of the week ends with the letters "DAY". The children filled in their poems and then draw a picture of their favorite day of the week. Finally, on the back of the poem, they practiced their number writing by tracing all the numbers for their November calendar.
During math, we continued our math stations that we started earlier this week. We continued to focus on comparing and determining more than and less than.
We finished our day with our first Mystery Reader. Ask your child who came in to read today!
