We started the morning with an opportunity for children to share a fruit or vegetable that they like. We used this conversation to talk about the importance of keeping our bodies healthy and we did some exercises with the help of a fabulous website called "Go Noodle". The children really seemed to enjoy the "wake-up" movements we were encouraged to do!
After recess and reading Mr. Grumpy, we started new Literacy Centers which continued to focus on the reading strategy of Eagle Eye. The children who worked with Ms. Dennehy also learned about Compound Words. Next week, we will make Compound Word books!
After lunch, recess. and quiet time, we continued our day with math stations which focused on more/less comparisons, as well as graphing and making bar charts based on data.  Next week we will learn about tally marks during our math stations!
We finished our day with Learning Centers where children had a chance to play "Sorry", role-play with the Dollhouse, paint, draw, and build in the Block Area.
Please remember that school is closed because of Veterans' Day tomorrow- we look forward to seeing your children on Thursday.
