Happy Monday! The Kindergarteners were excited to have the choice to use paper with lines during journal writing today. All the children had a share for their weekend and were excited to write and draw about their ideas. They were even more excited when they stretched out a word and could identify the letter which made the corresponding sound!
We introduced 2 new letters and sounds during Fundations today - o-oooo-octopus and c-cat-c. When learning how to write these letters, they were quick to recognize that are formed in a very similar way.
We started new math stations today. The children working with me focused on more or less and on using counting on strategies. Others at the Game Station loved the game "Salute"- ask your child if he/she remembers how to play. Children also worked with Ms. Dennehy to review concepts learned last week to review part, part whole. Thank you to those of you who have already volunteered to help out at math stations. We are looking forward to having you join us during this time!
Finally, we read the book Apples at the Orchard which helped us to remember our apple picking field trip!
