Today we wrote in our weekend journals after sharing about our weekends. We focused on planning out our sentences and then making lines to indicate where the words belong on the page. This continues to be a hard concept, but all are making tremendous progress.
We also had Literacy Stations where the children worked in small groups to focus on beginning sounds and sorting of words based on their beginning sounds. Some children were on Lexia for review while others worked with me in a small group for guided reading. During Fundations, we also introduced the question mark and talked about what makes a question.
During math, Claire's dad joined us as a volunteer. Thank you for spending part of your day with us! The children continued to play Top It while focusing on the language of "more than" and "less than" , while others played, "roll, spin, and tally". The Kindergarteners who worked with me played a game called "Stacks" where they determined whose stack had more or less and how many more and how many less.
