We started our day continuing where we left off on Friday. The Kindergartners were busy measuring items in our classroom with cubes. They were surprised at how many cubes were needed for certain items and very proud of the estimates that they made on Friday.
We started to learn about Syliva, our Star Of The Week today. Sylvia shared her poster with us and we added a lot of new information to our mind files about Sylvia. Tomorrow, we look forward to guessing her mystery items.
We were treated to a fabulous strings and band concert today by the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. The Kindergartners were excited to see some of their buddies performing as well as brothers and sisters of children in our class.
During math, we looked for things in the class that were taller, shorter, or the same height as we are. This led to a great class discussion about how we measure and how we can use our bodies to help us measure all types of things!
