The Kindergarteners have had a fabulous Monday! After our morning meeting, we went to the Strings and Band performance by the Third, Fourth , and Fifth Graders here at Loker School. After the concert, the children were able to identify many of the instruments that they saw, including a cello, violin, and trumpet!
We worked in our journals today, remembering the 4 steps of our writing: thinking, planning, writing the words and and adding an illustration. As the weeks go by , the children seem to need less and less support from us to write independently- it's quite amazing to see!!
We started new math stations today and focused on measurement. The children loved measuring their own shoes with unifix cubes, as long as record items in the classroom that were longer or shorter than a pencil. Adajah's mom joined us today to help at the Game Station where children played Top It. Thank you for your help! :-)
After skills lab, we ended our day with Open Circle as we talked about the "yellow light" on the Traffic Light to remind us to brainstorm possible solutions to a problem.
