The morning message was to write one word about your weekend. This was very tricky for many as they wanted to write their whole sentence!! This activity, however, lent itself nicely to my ability to model a full sentence when we got to journal writing. Wow- they worked, again, for about 30 minutes on their journals and each child improved upon their writing from last week.
During Fundations, I introduced a fun "Sing and Spell" video where trick words are sung and acted out. Today, we learned the words "are" and "and"-- we will continue to show these songs hoping that for those children who learn auditorily and through movement, the spelling and music will be helpful.
We started new math stations today! The children working with me worked on story problems using a story board, while others learned the" greater than" and" less than" symbol with Ms Dennehy. Others worked with Ms. Lepow as they continued to play the Racing Bears game.
