We started our morning with a special Mystery Reader- Maggie's grandmother! She read us two books- Yankee Doodle and a fiction story about a special seal called Cecelia. What a great way to start our day!
After sorting words that begin with either R or C (and then writing the sounds we heard), the Kindergartners shared about their weekends and then went to write in their jounals. We asked them to think about shapes as they were drawing to break down pictures such as a house, for example, into a square and a triange. The pictures and illustrations have come so far this year!
We started to also learn about Ryan, our star of the week, this morning. We "took out" our mindfiles and added lots more information to our file about Ryan! Tomorrow, we look forward to guessing the 3 items in his mystery bag that begin wtih R.
We started new math staiotns today! As we focus on measurement, we measured different pieces of string, as well as line puzzles. The most important part about this procedure is to measure from end to end. Thank you also to Mateo's mom for joining us and teaching the Kindergarteners how to play Uno.
