There was a fabulous amount of energy coming into school today as the Kindergarteners "reunited" with their friends and shared about their week. This energy translated into some fabulous writing during journals where children continued to work hard to hear all the sounds in their words and to try and vary their sentence formations. I look forward to sharing this work with you at our upcoming conferences.
We also had a "snowball" fight today to help review our sight/trick words learned thus far. The Kindergarteners wrote a word and then crumpled their paper into a ball and at the key word "snowball fight", they threw the papers. We then read what was on each paper going up to 4 words per snowball!
Ms Lepow, our math coach, joined us during math today as we continue to talk about "part, part whoe" and are now working on parts to 10. Some children made a bracelet with 10 beads to help them see the different ways to create 10. After we use these in class, we will be sending them home.
We also learned about Josie, our Star of The Week! We "opened up" our mind files and listened as Josie shared her poster. We look forward to guessing her clues for words that start with "J" tomorrow.
