We started the morning by sharing something we did this weekend that we've never done before! This conversation was meant to help the students write about something a little different in their journals. It seemed to work!
We also started to work on lowercase letters today , formally introducing how to write the letters "c" and "o". We also discussed when to use lowercase letters and are going to encourage students to start using lower case letters, especially in their names.
During Reading Workshop, we reviewed our 3 reading strategies (lips the fish, eagle eye, and skippity the frog) and introduced our writing about reading journals. I look forward to sharing these with you at our upcoming conferences.
We also had new math stations today. The KIndergarteners learned to play the game "Trade A Block" which has children creating hexagons, rhombuses ,and trapezoids from triangles. We also continued to work on "part, part, whole" while others explored pattern blocks and attribute blocks. Thank you to Chris Orcutt for joining us during this time!
