We started our morning with Olivia's mom joining us as our Mystery Reader. Thank you for spending your morning with us :-)
Amelia is our Star of The Week this week! She did a fabulous job sharing her Star of The Week poster. We all added a lot to our mind file about Amelia and she shared a lot of new information with the class about herself!
Our class also hosted two guest teachers today. As many of you know, we will be having a third Kindergarten classroom next year- these two teachers joined us to teach a lesson today. This morning, the children had a review lesson about blends and were then asked to sort their words. We used these blends as we transitioned to Writer's Workshop and as I encouraged the children to think about beginning blends in their words.
We also played a game called "Monster Mash" where the Kindergarteners thought about addends to 10. They played in groups of 4 and were encouraged to use patience and fair play practice to make the game successful. The children also had the chance to review missing addends. Feel free to ask your child different ways to make 10.
