The Kindergartners started their morning by reflecting on what they enjoyed about Field Day. We then created a book that we will give to Mr. O'Connor as a "thank you" for all his hard work to put this fabulous day together!
We met with Firefighter Pat who taught us about fire safety. He reviewed important rules about fire safety and also showed us his gear and put it all on! You will find a Fire Safety book in your child's folder today.
During Fundations we read The Teeny Tiny Woman by Tomie DePaola and learned how we can use all our Fundations skills to decode and figure out so many words, especially at this point of the year! We also reviewed the Beanie Baby Strategies of Lips The Fish and Eagle Eye.
Mrs. Wyner is Star of the Week this week! She shared her Star o fThe Week Poster and the Kindergarteners added information to their mind file about her. Tomorrow, she will provide 3 items that start with "i" and will have a special guest on Wednesday.
We had new math stations this week. Ms. Lepow joined us at the lesson station as we talked about subtraction from 10 and using the ten frames to help us frame our thoughts. Children played "Build a Floor" to 10 with Ms. Dennehy, while others played "Roll a Hexagon."
