The Kindergarteners worked hard during their rehearsal for school meeting tomorrow. Standing in front of an audience and knowing what's expected is a great learning expereince for all. We look forward to seeing those who are able to join us.
Ms. Pirelli joined us to introduce the Unthinkable "Brain Eater". Brain Eater tries to get a person distracted and to veer away from the group plan. The teachers performed in skits to show the way that Brain Eater has tried to distract Kindergarteners (shoe laces, rain, snow, playing with hair) and how Superflex can help us to defeat Brain Eater.
We also worked on our weekend journals this morning as we shared about our weekends. The Kindergarteners were excited to write about activities such as learning to ride a bike without training wheels and spending time with their families. We look forward to sharing these journals with you at our Open House.
During math, we played many different games as we are reviewing the many different concepts learned this year. The children loved playing "make 5 memory" as they used unifix cubest to prove their thinking. I also enjoyed working with my small group as we made bigger shapes out of a variety of smaller shapes.
In Open Circle, we started to talk about the feelijngs that we (including the teachers!) are having at this time of the year. Many of these feelings are conflcting and it was an important opportunity to speak openly about the ways some of us might feel anxious, scared, and excited all at the same time!!!
