The Kindergarteners did a fabulous job "thinking, pairing and sharing" about their weekends during morning meeting. We then used these shares as the children wrote in their journals. Some are getting brave and trying to write words and label pictures, while others are feeling more comfortable focusing on their drawing.
During Fundations today, we introduced the letter "f"- f-fun-f" and brainstormed words that begin with the letter "f". We also practiced writing the letters "t, b, f" noticing that they are all sky line letters. Tomorrow, we will use our magnetic boards to look even closer at these letters.
The Kindergarteners had such fun acting out Mrs. Wishy Washy during Reader's Workshop today. Because we have now read the book 4 times, they know the words and can recognize the key characters in the story. Acting out and reading the story was also one of the choices at Choice Time.
Ms. Lepow was with us for math today. We actively participated in a counting song/video and worked on our new counting books. These books help reinforce representing our numbers by using unifix cubes and then drawing out the correct quantity. We will continue to work on these books during math stations.
