We are sorting and counting a lot both during our phonics times and math times! Today during Literacy Centers, the Kindergarteners sorted words by their beginning sounds (S or M) and were challenged to also write the words which they sorted. We also continued to work in All About Me books, writing down our phone numbers and circling the appropriate numbers on a rotary (!!) phone. We also introduced a new sight word - SEE- and the Kindergarteners had the opportunity to create a SEE sight word book. During math, the children counted 10 leaves to go on their fall tree. They were then asked to sort the leaves by color and to record the number counted. These will be displayed in our classroom soon- come and check them out!
