Happy First day of December! After talking about the special days in December, we had a great day today in Room 1. We started new Literacy Centers where most of the children finished their compound word books. We hope to have these displayed soon outside of our classroom. Many children received new books in their guided reading groups where are reading and discussing mostly non-fiction texts. Ask your child which book he/she is reading!
During math today, we finished our math station where we focused on counting and comparing, At the Lesson Station, I introduced a strategy that I call "matchy match". Ask your child what we do for this strategy of comparing.
We are also continuing to learn about Saoirse, our Star of The Week. Today she brought in 3 items that started with an S and gave clues to her peers. The children had a lot of fun guessing the items!
