We started our morning with Claire's mom joining us as a Mystery Reader . She read LadyBug Girl and The Perfect PlayDate. Thank you for spending part of your morning with us!
Ms. Pirelli also joined us this morning and read Personal Space Camp which introduces the concept of personal space and the importance of keeping our hands on our bodies. She also showed us a video with a song about "Personal Space" which your Kindergartener might still be singing when he/she gets home! :-)
During poetry, we learned a poem that will help us spell "October" and practiced writing the numbers 1 ("A line straight down is lot of fun, that's the way to make a one") and 2 (around and across and say yahoo, that's the way to make a 2). We then sat around our fireplace and sang all 3 poems that we have learned thus far!
We spent our math time in the Computer Lab using Symphony Math. The first step for the program is an assessment which will then place the children at their right spot/level. We will also use this program during math stations in our classroom.
