Today we joined the rest of Loker School at School Meeting. During this time, Mr. Jones read William's Doll and we talked about gender stereotypes in an age appropriate way. We then watched a Loker PRIDE skit and celebrated birthdays.
Olivia's dad joined us as Olivia's Star Reader this morning. Thank you for spending part of your day with us! :-)
Ms. Pirelli joined us and read Just The Way You Are by Men Fox. This book tied in nicely with our study of MLK, Jr as it reminded us that we all "smile in the same language" and though we may look different on the outside, we have lots of similarities inside.
We ended our day by starting our new science unit about Goldfish! The Kindergarteners were very excited to observe and learn about our goldfish. We talked about the different parts of a goldfish- fins, tail, mouth and gils. The Kindergarten scientists then recorded in their journals the parts of the goldfish and one sentence about the goldfish.
